American Footballers across the United States and in the UK have joined pre-match protests in defiance of Donald Trump. The president says players that kneeled during the singing of the national anthem were disrespecting the flag and the country, but that didn’t stop hundreds of them joining in the ‘Take A Knee’ protest that first happened over a year ago to highlight racial injustice.
The bongs of Big Ben, the bell inside the clock tower above the Houses of Parliament, are to be silenced for four years for conservation works.
